The Red Hat Global Ecosystem team is looking for a Technical Engagement Manager to join us in our Westford, MA. In this partner-facing role, you will build, manage, and implement a pipeline of candidates to become committed partners and work within the Red Hat Connect Partner Program to hand off to partner engineering for build and certification assistance of identified and prioritized applications and offerings. You'll be able to recruit and manage many accounts at one time and interface with many different contacts within a partner prospect's organization, ranging from executives, product marketing and management and business alliances. As a Technical Engagement Manager, you will create a central point in the partner experience, a face, name, and relationship that will be consistent through the platform adoption process. We'll expect you to have a significant focus on modernizing applications in a container format and working to build up the OpenShift by Red Hat ecosystem.
Primary job responsibilities
Build and manage a prospect pipeline mapped to Red Hat technical adoption and certification campaigns like Containers and OpenShift by Red Hat
Successfully move prospects to committed partners by working closely with individuals in these organizations and providing assistance online, on phone, and occasionally in person
Develop a project plan and agreement with partner prospects to document the joint opportunities and deliver against metrics and KPI's
Work within the Red Hat Connect Partner Program to use and improve all operations, process, and systems to make the partner journey and data improved
Assist partners with information, content, resources, tools, and relationships to increase their stickiness with Red Hat programs and solutions
Provide valuable feedback internally to product managers, program campaigns, platform teams on wins and losses across the pipeline for the purpose of creating additional value or issue management
Be willing to create content via blogs, posts, social media, podcasts, or other means to create visibility and networking in the ecosystem
Collaborate across Red Hat program, field, product, marketing, and engineering teams to provide best possible support of accounts as well as clear communication of opportunities and triage of any issues
Build a sense of trust with partners and serve as their advocate within Red Hat
Balance of technical and analytical background with some sales and business development experience
4+ years of experience as a support engineer, technical account manager, or solutions architect
Experience with Linux, preferably a Red Hat variant like Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, or Fedora, including installation, configuration, upgrade, and maintenance experience
Very good understanding of container technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices; familiarity with management system tools (like Ansible by Red Hat, Puppet, Chef) is preferred
Practical experience with a variety of hardware or software vendors
Ability to manage multiple issues and projects while maintaining a high attention to detail
Ability to deliver high-quality support to strengthen existing ISV partner relationships
Experience collaborating with support, development, engineering, and quality assurance teams
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information to partners in a clear and concise manner
Solid troubleshooting skills and a passion for problem solving and investigation
