The Red Hat Software Engineering team is looking for a Senior Program Manager to join our program management team. In this role, you will be an integral part of a community responsible for planning, developing, testing, and releasing community Linux distribution, Fedora Project. You will work with geographically dispersed teams focusing on different projects, and coordinate their project deliverables and schedules. You will also develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders of Fedora community (e.g. Fedora Council or Fedora Engineering Steering Committee) and key stakeholders responsible for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). This role is key to bridging community based distribution and our enterprise offering based on Fedora. Primary job responsibilities
Successfully manage and coordinate complex, multiphased programs by guiding cross-functional teams to define, scope, plan, and deliver high-quality software
Oversee all aspects of new and existing programs or projects from start to finish
Develop and maintain the master plan, schedule, and status for multiple product releases, in coordination with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, while fostering an environment of collaboration, trust, and accountability within and across departments
Coordinate weekly team meetings
Identify risks, issues, and problems in software engineering processes and develop detailed recovery or mitigation plans
Experience in working with open source communities
Experience guiding teams working on free and open source software, especially Linux
Bachelor's degree in a related field
5-10 years of experience delivering technology-related services or products
Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional, internationally dispersed environment and effectively use traditional and virtual communication
Experience with Waterfall and Agile software development and project management methodologies, tools, and defect tracking systems
