Help define the containers technology strategy for Red Hat. The Red Hat Product Management team is looking for a Principal Technology Product Manager join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you will work closely with the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and OpenShift by Red Hat product management teams, engineering, and ecosystem partners to formulate a solid containers roadmap for Red Hat. You'll participate in the overall offering and go-to-market strategies while getting input from customers, analysts, the open source community, and internal stakeholders to promote the delivery of innovative solutions to market. As a Principal Technology Product Manager, you will also define personas, use cases, and market-based requirement solutions for enterprise-level offerings.
Primary job responsibilities
Work with product managers to determine market requirements for a successful offering, including conducting competitive analysis, interviewing customers, and documenting use cases
Work with the Product Engineering team to develop user stories from the requirements and upstream project activity as part of the specification process for each offering
Develop a containers technology roadmap, including containers build, deployment, orchestration and management technologies
Work closely with upstream communities and the Product Engineering team to determine the priorities for each offering, plan its releases, and maintain its roadmaps
Work closely with the Product Marketing team to develop positioning and go-to-market strategy; serve as an evangelist to inform and educate the user community of the offering
Maintain solid relationships and stay in regular communication with the Sales, Professional Services, Quality Engineering (QE), and Customer Support teams
10-15 years of experience with enterprise technologies like operating systems and virtualization
Working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux Atomic Host, CoreOS Container Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, Buildah, and OpenShift by Red Hat, as well as application containers and related technologies
Solid understanding of upstream dynamics in the container communities
Experience working with startups and fast-paced innovators
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including blogging and the use of social media
Willingness to travel up to 30%
Experience working in an open source company is a plus
Prior experience with the agile development process is a plus
