Guide the technical marketing agenda for our Red Hat OpenStack Platform and cloud infrastructure solutions. The Red Hat Platform Marketing team is looking for a Technical Product Marketing Manager to join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you will work closely with product marketing, product management, engineering, solutions design, and our technical field community (solutions architects, consultants, etc.) to craft the proper technical messaging and proof points within the modern-day market and competition offerings. You’ll support a compelling marketing plan to achieve success within the Red Hat OpenStack Platform and cloud infrastructure solutions teams globally, including designing product demonstrations and technical content to help the field better sell the offerings and solutions. As a Principal Product Marketing Manager, you will help manage the technical requirements in support of the marketing plan and go-to-market activities, our sales strategies, and, where appropriate, of our partners globally. You’ll need to have experience with Red Hat OpenStack Platform and related cloud infrastructure solutions (storage, networking, management, etc.) and knowledge of network functions virtualization (NFV).
Primary job responsibilities
Collaborate with product management teams to understand and prioritize feature and solutions definition; ensure that marketing plans align with market directions and support the roadmap and releases of our offerings
Participate in technical aspects of go-to-market engagements like roadshows, workshops, webinars, demos of offerings and solutions, industry and partner events, and sales enablement and training
Collaborate with sales teams where required in high-touch accounts worldwide through close engagement with field sales and services
Serve as an infrastructure expert and ensure comprehensive understanding of the market’s current state of conditions through research and awareness of customer needs and competitive offerings
Create technical marketing collateral (internal and external) with cloud infrastructure marketing teams, including technical presentations, whitepapers, case studies, and more
Create and carry out solutions demos for use externally with trade shows, customers, and more
Guide technical expertise and vision across public domains, including blogs, web, social media, and other outbound marketing activities
Work with alliance and ecosystem partners through the alliance teams to develop joint value propositions
Create other technical marketing proof points while working with other teams that are specific to performance benchmarks, reference architectures, etc.
10-15 years of related experience, preferably within an area of cloud infrastructure software solutions (operating system, cloud, virtualization) or systems administration
2+ years of experience with Red Hat OpenStack Platform, including experience with service provider solutions, independent software vendor (ISV) partners, or distribution vendors
5+ years of product management experience; solutions engineering or solutions architecture experience is a big plus
Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science; advanced degree like master’s in computer science or electrical engineering or an MBA is a plus
Product experience with Linux, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, KVM or virtualization, containers, etc.
Domain knowledge and experience with open source projects, datacenter networking, and storage
Proven record of success in a fast-moving technical solutions environment
Solid written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
Solid technical knowledge and ability to explain customer technical requirements and use cases to engineering and product management teams
Success in working in a persuasion-driven cross-functional environment with a remote and global workforce
Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities while working in a highly complex environment
Ability to articulate the technical value proposition of our offerings and evangelize both solutions and stand-alone offerings internally and externally
