Play an important part in managing the budget process and tools for our Marketing team. The Red Hat Marketing team in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region is looking for an experienced Budget Management Specialist to join us Singapore. In this role, you will ensure the alignment of the budget with the APAC Finance team and serve as a conduit to the global team to coordinate our requirements for the region. You’ll need to be highly motivated with positive attitude, results-oriented, and have great communication skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
Primary job responsibilities
Be responsible for APAC Marketing budgets and forecast accuracy
Support monthly, quarterly, and fiscal year closing by ensuring all expenses and provisions are booked to appropriate accounts
Work closely with the field team to monitor and maintain the budget and expenses via checkpoint calls
Work closely with the Finance team to help the field team resolve the day-to-day accounting and purchase requisition-related issues
Ensure compliance with the current procurement and accounting processes and policies, guidance for budget and spending, and tax and legal requirements
Be responsible for budget-related projects and system enhancement as well as ad hoc projects which management deems fit
Provide reporting requirements as needed from time to time
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related fields
4+ years of experience in marketing budget management in a multi-country environment
Solid sense of urgency and accountability
Meticulous, organized, and with good analytical skills
Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Experience in budgeting and budget planning, including development of annual budgets, forecasting, and variance analysis
Knowledge of forecasting and identifying variances between actuals and forecast results
Direct experience with budget systems and tools like Allocadia and Oracle
Solid analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to activate business requirements
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Deep understanding of and proficiency in marketing budget management and accounting tools and marketing processes
Good working knowledge across multiple countries and local environments
Solid mastery of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets and experience with reporting and data analysis
