The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for an Infrastructure and Cloud Consultant to join us in Singapore. In this role, you will deliver and implement technology that brings long-term freedom, flexibility, choice, and exceptional performance to our customers. You’ll gain understanding of customer infrastructures and business needs and make recommendations fitting for each of our customer's unique situations. As an Infrastructure and Cloud Consultant, you will also need solid technical and communications skills, including familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), virtualization, and cloud technologies and a record of successfully applying these technologies to solve business problems.
Primary job responsibilities
Serve as a subject matter expert on site, explaining technical, development, or strategic IT requirements
Identify problems and choose fitting architectural solutions; design, specify, implement, and test software
Facilitate customer enablement and deployment of open source solutions
Work on diverse problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of many different factors
Apply your experience and understanding of industry practices and Red Hat's policies and procedures
Show good judgment in selecting methods and techniques to get the right solutions
Manage and engage with senior level stakeholders at the C-level and one level below
Get involved early in the sales cycle to explore, review, and shape deal opportunities
3+ years of experience designing and configuring any Linux distribution, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), virtualization, and cloud technologies
3+ years of experience with system customization and development, including system performance tuning, building customized distributions, and working with enterprise hardware like SAN-based storage
Expert level Linux proficiency with troubleshooting skills; preferably on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL); ability to troubleshoot issues with the underlying components of OpenStack when investigating incidents to achieve root cause analysis or testing new features
Expert level proficiency in operating an OpenStack cloud via Horizon or CLIKnowledge of some scripting language, with the ability to read Python logs
Excellent communications skills
Demonstrated ability to use automation tools and configuration management languages like Puppet, Chef, Ansible, and Bash
Familiarity with OpenStack Deployment and Continuous Integration tools like Red Hat OpenStack Director, TripleO, Canoncal Ubuntu, Juju, Mirantis, Fuel, etc.
Ability to use DevOps processes to create automate methods to deploy OpenStack cloud platforms and scale OpenStack services
Proficiency in software defined storage technologies like Ceph, as well as common storage protocols like iSCSI, FC, NFS, etc.
Ability to understand the technical challenges of cloud and ability to demonstrate how certain cloud functionality will solve business challenges
Ability to communicate value, progress, and metrics of key projects to required stakeholders and diverse business and technical audiences
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification or Red Hat Certified Administrator in Red Hat OpenStack (RHCSA-RHOSP) equivalent combination of skills and experience
Willingness to travel up to 50% across Southeast Asia (ASEAN), Taiwan, and Hong Kong
