Job summary

Discover and analyze customer business and technical needs. The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Middleware Architect to join us Santiago, Chile. In this role, you will be the catalyst who creates possibilities, solves problems, and establishes working relationships with our customers. You'll collaborate with the Sales and technical delivery teams to help them invest wisely in the best solutions. We'll need you to have excellent communication and people skills, as you'll be a key part of the first major experience our customers have with Red Hat.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Be the subject matter expert at the client site, addressing the technical, developmental, or strategic IT needs

  • Manage problem identification, system architecture definition, software specification and design, testing, and deployment of open source solutions

  • Adapt to changing customer requirements

  • Respond to incidents, escalations, and exceptions in a professional manner

Required skills

  • Excellent technical skills and experience designing and implementing Java or JEE solutions

  • Deep experience with at least one of the major middleware solutions; Red Hat JBoss Middleware is preferred, but experience with Oracle WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, webMethods, etc. is also acceptable

  • Demonstrated experience communicating value, progress, and metrics of key projects to required stakeholders in both technical and business audiences

  • Ability to constantly learn new technologies on your own and apply these concepts to customer needs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and the local language of the region

  • Knowledge of Hibernate and Apache Tomcat is a plus
