Job summary

The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Senior Architect to join us. In this role, you will promote the adoption of Red Hat's solutions in our key enterprise accounts, government agencies, and service provider partners. You'll earn the trust and confidence of customers' engineering, development, and operations teams by aligning their requirements and use cases to the functional capabilities of Red Hat solutions. You will also play a critical role in bringing together cross-functional teams to meet the needs of our most demanding customers. As a Senior Architect, you'll act as a customer advocate with Red Hat to architect the right solutions and ensure they are implemented and supported in an innovative and reliable way.

Primary job responsibilities

  • As Senior Architect for Microservices and Business Automation within Red Hat’s Services Strategy and Offering group, identify opportunities for services solution offerings and drive the development and deployment of tooling, collateral, and methodologies that enable Red Hat to deliver services at scale.

  • Lead the delivery of scalable and repeatable Red Hat solutions including analysis, definition, development, functional test, scalable performance validation, and integration including business process, business rules, related development and operations best practices, and associated cultural transformations to enable business agility through automation.

  • Create and drive solution product launches as well as continuing awareness and promotion and work alongside sales teams to successfully position and scope solutions with potential clients.

  • Monitor solution delivery and market performance to ensure quality and drive updates / replacement / retirement as appropriate.

  • Capture complex client requirements and environments: identify solution opportunities and applicable technologies and craft compelling architecture and integration designs to address client requirements.

  • Interface with senior technical and business personnel globally within Red Hat, our partners, and our clients to identify opportunities and create repeatable services solutions and methodologies to address those opportunities.

  • Work with Red Hat senior management, consulting, product business units, and partner organizations to define solutions strategy in response to global and regional market opportunities, evolving technologies, and future directions.

  • Work with consulting, product, global services, and global sales organizations within Red Hat and Red Hat’s partner ecosystem to identify strategic and timely solution opportunities and to define targeted solutions in response to them.

  • Collaborate in solution development efforts across Red Hat and partner organizations to develop methodologies, packaged services, business consulting, and portfolio solutions leveraging integrated Red Hat and partner technologies, products, and services.

  • Drive awareness and enablement plans in region to ensure Red Hat sales, consulting, and partner audiences can successfully position, scope, and deliver the portfolio of solutions.

  • Work with Red Hat Consulting and marketing teams to identify internal and external marketing opportunities and gaps at both regional and global levels.

  • Assist in defining campaigns, programs, and collateral to address Direct Sales, Indirect Sales, Partners, and clients.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's of Science (US or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. Must have seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role.

  • Must have seven (7) years of experience: Architecting and designing complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technology domain; in a Solutions Architect, Enterprise Architect or Architect consulting delivery role; with virtualization and middleware technologies, including JBoss EAP, JBoss BRMS, JBoss Fuse, and OpenShift; working seamlessly with distributed cross-functional teams to achieve success on behalf of customers; working with highly distributed teams, including interaction with the Open Source communities via Email and IRC.

  • Must have five (5) years of experience: focused on application maintenance and their supporting infrastructure; in consultative customer engagement with either a major consulting services organization or within the services division of a major software company; working in a strategic advisory capacity to senior developers, IT, and business executives and presenting to C-level executives at large firms; across one or more vertical industry areas; and working in a QA role or working with ticketing systems or bug tracking tools.

  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time at locations throughout North America. All travel will be reimbursed by Red Hat.

  • Must live near a major airport.
