Red Hat Telco NFV Cloud Senior Consultant - EMEA in Remote, France

The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Cloud Architect specialized in telco network functions virtualization (NFV) to join our regional consulting practice team. In this role, you will guide the adoption of Red Hat's solutions among our key telco service provider customers, network equipment providers (NEPs), and key system integrator (SI) partners. You’ll help their engineering, development, and operations teams with implementation through a series of in-person and remote interactions. You’ll need to have deep working knowledge of and direct experience with Red Hat OpenStack Platform-based cloud infrastructures to support applications providing virtualized network functions (VNF) to the telco industry. As a Cloud Architect, you’ll need to bring a wealth of industry experience and domain expertise and solid working knowledge of agile project methodologies and DevOps models and technologies, as you’ll play a leading role in delivery of these business-critical solutions. You’ll also play a key role in bringing together cross-functional teams from Red Hat's product business, product engineering, support, consulting, and sales teams to meet the needs of our demanding customers. You’ll serve as a customer advocate with these organizations, delivering the right solutions and ensuring that these solutions are implemented and supported in an innovative and reliable way. This role can be based in any of our Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) locations with access to a major airport to enable travel across EMEA. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Primary job responsibilities
Become a respected Red Hat subject matter expert at the client site, addressing their technical, development, and strategic IT requirements
Use your critical thinking skills to tackle tough problems in an innovative way
Serve as a trusted adviser at the client site and assist the project or technical managers in setting and delivering on expectations
Maintain deep understanding of industry practices and thorough project experience and training
Respond to incidents, escalations, and exceptions in a professional manner
Knowledge of one or more communications service provider (CSP) markets
Specific knowledge of NFV and software-defined networking (SDN) area (benefits, technologies, key vendors, use cases, etc.)
Understanding of advanced networking concepts (VLANs, OpenVPN, iptables, dnsmasq, tunneling, overlay networking, OSI layer 4-7 services, topology discovery, path computation, etc.)
Familiarity with technologies like Open VSwitch, OpenFlow, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Amazon Web Services (AWS), etc.
Specific knowledge of mobile (4G, 3G, 2G) and fixed networks (network architectures, service models, service provisioning, etc.)
Demonstrated knowledge of major industry standards, including TMF, TNM, ETSI, ITU, 3GPP, ONF, ONRF, etc.
Deep understanding of ETSI NFV architecture and the main telco use cases (vCPE, vEPC, vCDN, vIMS, vRAN, etc.)
Solid Knowledge of Telco business processes related to BSS and OSS operations (eTOM, FrameworX, ITIL)
Solid background in consultative customer engagements with either a major systems integrator, a network equipment provider, or a telco services provider.
Broad and deep technical experience with virtualization and cloud technologies (e.g. OpenStack, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, Puppet, Ruby, Python etc.)
Solid understanding and participation in OPNFV
Outstanding verbal and written communications skills, including extensive experience presenting to C-level executives at large firms.
Willingness to travel weekly to client locations throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa
