Define and carry out the go-to-market strategy for one of the fastest-growing offerings in our portfolio. The Red Hat OpenShift Hosted Platform team is looking for an experienced Principal Product Marketing manager to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will be critical for our success in the emerging Docker-format container and Kubernetes orchestration technology space. You’ll lead the development of the product messaging, positioning, and core content for the assigned family of offerings. You'll also serve as a key business partner to the field and develop effective sales tools and sales plays for the Red Hat's sales team and partners worldwide. As a Principal Product Marketing Manager, you will work cross-functionally and globally with numerous teams across business, corporate and field marketing, services, and partner teams. Your skills and expertise as a product marketing expert, as well as your solid technical background, will be critical for success in our fast-paced environment and rapidly evolving market.
Primary job responsibilities
Participate in technical aspects of go-to-market engagements like road shows, workshops, webinars, demos of offerings and solutions, industry and partner events, and sales enablement and training
Develop messaging and positioning for the OpenShift Hosted Platforms (OpenShift Online, Red Hat OpenShift Dedicated, and OpenShift on Azure) family of offerings, including our developer and cloud-based services
Create effective marketing assets and content, including whitepapers, presentations, case studies, solutions briefs, web content, data sheets, and sales kits that can be used globally
Define market segmentation and develop the right marketing strategy that maps to target buyers, business problems, and IT initiatives aligned with the business opportunity
Own and guide the launch strategy for our offerings with a cross-functional team; develop objectives and success metrics for new introduction of our offerings
Define sales enablement strategy for our sellers in inside, field, technical, and partner-facing roles; develop and deliver sales enablement content and playbooks
Coordinate with strategic partners where appropriate to align messaging and solutions; create materials that can be used by all relevant partners for their marketing efforts
Conduct ROI analysis and develop content to help customers make the business case for our solutions; develop customer evidence and map it to use cases
Gather competitive intelligence on our key competitors, develop differentiation materials for the field and for external consumption
Support industry analyst and media briefings
Define pricing and bundling strategy for the assigned offerings
Represent Red Hat at customer and industry events
8+ years of software industry experience, preferably within an area of application development, infrastructure software (operating system, cloud, virtualization) or systems management
6+ years of product marketing experience
Knowledge of the infrastructure, application development, and cloud markets, including key players, market trends, key industry analysts, and technology direction
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, marketing, business, economics, or a related area; MBA is a plus
Proven record of building, getting buy-in for, and implementing marketing plans, staying focused and "getting it done" in a fast-moving, technical environment
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain and translate complex technology concepts into simple and intuitive communications
Comfortable working with and presenting to all levels of an organization
Experience working effectively in a persuasion-driven, cross-functional environment
Ability to be meet deadlines and juggle multiple projects at once while working in a highly complex environment
Experience with social media and digital marketing
