Job summary

The Red Hat IT Finance team is looking for an experienced Principal Application Developer with proven expertise in Oracle FRICE object development to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will oversee the project delivery teams responsible for designing and developing custom packages to interface data between Red Hat’s Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) instance and external systems, building new custom processes, workflows, extensions or personalizations. As a Principal Application Developer, you will work with business analysts, solutions architects, integration developers, and quality assurance (QA) engineers on project implementations. You will also serve as the technical lead for all project deliverables.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Oracle EBS integrations that conform to enterprise design standards

  • Analyze and clarify functional specifications, write technical specifications, and implement business logic

  • Document use cases, create physical and logical data models, and build deployment plans

  • Analyze log files to help debug problems

  • Provide ongoing support throughout SDLC process

  • Work with business partners to help deliver leading edge solutions on On-Premise and cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications

  • Assess the impact of potential changes, implement solutions to mitigate negative outcomes

  • Partner with other project leads to create end-to-end solutions

  • Guide and mentor contract developers assigned to your project

  • Participate in transition from project implementation to ongoing support through knowledge transfer to support team

Required skills

  • 10+ years of Oracle EBS development (SQL, PL/SQL)

  • 2+ years working in or with the following:

  • Agile team environment

  • Distributed source control like GIT, including branching and merging

  • Middleware tools

  • Prior experience building interfaces based on Oracle business event framework

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and plan in a fast-paced, team-focused environment; proven ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks

  • Fluent English language proficiency

  • Detailed and concise written and verbal communication and documentation skills

  • Ability to understand, adhere to, and lead existing team processes and ongoing improvements

  • Great communication skills that foster relationship-building with Business and IT stakeholders

  • Sound judgment and independent decision-making regarding the viability of solutions and abstract concepts

The following is considered a plus:

  • Experience on project delivery teams

  • Performance optimization of PL/SQL scripts

  • Working experience with SQL tuning

  • Knowledge or experience with Oracle Application Express (APEX)

  • Linux or UNIX shell scripting (e.g. Bash)

  • Internet technologies like SSH/SFTP, PGP/GnuPG

  • Functional understanding of multiple Oracle EBS modules, including PO, AP, FA, OM, AR, INV, and GL
