Job summary

The Site Management team is looking for a Management Intern to join us in Pune, India. You should be passionate about working with diverse teams and on different assignments that may include various temporary and ongoing projects. You will get a chance to learn by doing, implement programs which may primarily be introduced for site branding, associate engagement, academic connection, other diversity related projects, and manage conferences etc. You’ll also get the opportunity to build communities of technical and diversity interest in the open source world. We expect you to promote the Red Hat culture, values, and multiply behaviors that add to our culture. You will design programs and implement them, and learn some project management techniques. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Work with various teams internally as well as agencies outsides like universities, communities, etc.

  • Work cross-functionally within other teams and stakeholders; foster collaborative environment

  • Carry out and initiate a university connect program for Pune site and effectively learn by collaborating and implementing best practices

  • Develop associate engagement programs and implement them

  • Lead different communities that are important for Red Hat's open source philosophy; implement various diversity related initiatives like the Women's Leadership Community

  • Manage large scale events like conferences and meet-ups like Hybrid cloud next, DevConf

  • Work effectively with associates and leaders to implement strategies

Required skills

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in management, content writing, or HR with 1 year of experience

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and work under strict deadlines

  • Ability to learn and apply new skills and processes quickly

  • Creative person with good event and people management skills; passionate speaker to speak at forums

  • Ability to lead by example

The following is considered a plus:

  • Background in management or HR

  • Experience in writing and designing to write blog posts and report

  • Experience managing big events
