The Red Hat Finance team is looking for an experienced Accountant to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and compliance related activities supporting the regional and global accounting teams.
Primary job responsibilities
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing; create quarterly balance sheet and profit and loss (P&L) fluctuation analysis
Perform the expense variance analysis
Assist in analyzing financial data to ensure accuracy and US GAAP compliance
Support SOX 404 compliance testing
Maintain proper SOP, accounting methods and procedures
Prepare journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations for Intangible Assets, other assets, liabilities, Benefit liability accounts, etc.
Prepare monthly balance sheet review package
Prepare external reporting schedules and work with external auditors to address issues
Focus on process improvement
Work closely with IT team to resolve any system issues
Solid understanding of US GAAP
Highly motivated with the ability to demonstrate creative problem-solving and analytical skills within a fast-paced, deadline driven, and challenging environment
Bachelor’s degree in commerce, /CA/ICWAI/CA (Inter)/ICWAI (Inter)
5-10 years of relevant experience with multinational company
Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word etc.)
Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP)
Attention to detail, organized and thorough with the desire for continuous improvement
Excellent time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
Ability to troubleshoot accounting reconciling items through deep dive analysis
Ability to do the analysis of accruals and record in general ledger
Good understanding of financial statement consolidation including FX revaluation and FX translation is preferred
Previous Sarbanes-Oxley exposure is a big plus
