Help our customers invest wisely in a middleware infrastructure that gives them maximum flexibility now and for the future, allowing them to run faster and more efficiently. Red Hat's Public Sector Sales team is looking for an Integration Solutions Architect to join us in McLean, VA. In this role, you'll be responsible for architecting solutions, presenting compelling recommendations, and convincing prospective Red Hat customers to use modern open source solutions. You'll be the frontline catalyst creating possibilities, solving problems, and establishing working relationships with customers. This requires a balance of serious technical expertise, passion for open source, a thorough understanding of business processes, and the ability to identify and create business solutions across multiple technology platforms at the enterprise level. As an Integration Solutions Architect, you will also need excellent communication and people skills, because you'll be a crucial part of the first in-depth experience our customers have with Red Hat.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Show a diverse understanding of middleware and integration solutions and modern AppDev and DevOps practices

  • Discover and analyze customers' business and technical needs with the goal of designing value driven architectures and presenting the application and ROI of those technology solutions

  • Act as a primary technical resource for messaging, integration, microservices, and API management technologies and solutions within the Sales team

  • Conduct regular demonstrations of Fuse, AMQ, 3Scale, and other Red Hat integration technologies, particularly as they work with and within the OpenShift Container Platform

  • Guide and support presales demonstrations, demos, workshops, proofs of concepts (POC), evaluations, and benchmarks

  • Provide timely and accurate technical responses to presales requests, including responses to technical sections of RFIs and RFPs

  • Meet revenue quota, deployment, and service objectives are met while maintaining a high level of prospect and customer satisfaction

  • Develop and maintain tools to support the Sales and Marketing teams, including demonstrations and presentation materials

  • Contribute to building best practices among peers in sales and engineering

  • Form relationships with clients' technical staff to identify new opportunities

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a technical pre-sales, support, or consulting role

  • Experience with modern application development practices and technologies (e.g., Agile, containers, Spring/Spring Boot, MSA, Git or Maven, CI/CD, API management)

  • Deep knowledge of integration and messaging technologies

  • Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about open source technologies and community-based development

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a proven track record of developing relationships at engineering, commercial, and executive levels

  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences

  • Great customer service skills and desire to make users successful

  • Ability to interpret customers' business and technical needs

  • Ability to work in the field in remote offices and managed with excellent prioritization skills

  • Familiarity with Linux

  • Willingness to travel up to 50%

The following will be considered a plus:

  • Knowledge of enterprise cloud solutions, deploying and running solutions in a cloud environment, and private, public, and hybrid clouds

  • Experience selling to or providing service to the US Public Sector

  • Government clearances
