Work closely with some of our most strategic partners to guide their adoption and integration of Red Hat's solutions portfolio as the preferred choice for SAP S/4HANA and SAP Leonardo solutions. The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Technical Presales Engineer to join us. In this role, you will work as part of the Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Alliances team. You’ll serve as an ambassador and primary technical point of contact for system integrators (SIs) and independent software vendors (ISVs) that service this market. You’ll need to have deep technical skill in both SAP offerings and cloud computing, as well as customer-facing skills, to effectively represent Red Hat to end customers, partners, developers, and architects. You’ll also need to be able to think strategically about business, solutions, and technical challenges. As a Technical Presales Engineer, you’ll need to have significant direct experience delivering major SAP R/3 to SAP S/4HANA infrastructure migration projects over on-premise, public, or hybrid cloud environments. You’ll be expected to apply your experience working as an SI or boutique consultancy or public cloud provider, specializing in the design and deployment or migration of SAP solutions. Ideally, this role should be located close to our offices in London, U.K., or Munich, Germany, but it can also be based in any one of our major offices in the region. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Primary job responsibilities
Lead SAP-related technical presales engagement activities to guide the adoption and integration of Red Hat’s solutions and services portfolios for SAP within the SAP practices of Red Hat's alliance partners
Collaborate with the above partners to position, win, and support strategic SAP projects, incorporating Red Hat’s offerings and services
Assist the above partners to internally capture and share best practices knowledge for deploying, running, and managing SAP solutions with the help of Red Hat
Agree training and enablement plans for alliance partner sales, technical presales, and delivery associates
Identify any gaps between Red Hat's assets for partner enablement and serve as the voice of the partners, ensuring working in close collaboration with Red Hat's Global Partner Technical Enablement team to develop and deliver training content and materials to address these gaps
Provide subject-matter expertise as to how to automate the migration, deployment, operation and management of SAP solutions either on-premise or over the premier public cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure
Provide subject matter expertise as to how SAP migration projects are structured from a technical perspective and the technical best practices that should be used to ensure low risk, predictable, on-time delivery
Educate internal and external stakeholders in the latest SAP technology portfolio including SAP S/4HANA, Digital Core, Fiori, and Leonardo offerings, as well as the more traditional on-premise SAP R/3 solutions
Contribute to Red Hat's strategy and understanding of the SAP market
Broad knowledge of the entire SAP platform at the system architecture level
Demonstrable expertise and experience in architecture, deployment, and operation of infrastructure components and systems relating to SAP deployments like database and RDBMS (SAP BASIS and in-memory), operating systems (Unix, Windows, and Linux), and virtualization (VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Red Hat Virtualization)
Solid understanding of SAP NetWeaver Application Server, advanced business application programming (ABAP), and Application Server (AS) Java system architectures
Previous experience with SAP implementation and migration projects in either a technical presales or delivery capacity
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to adapt your messaging and content to various types and levels of audience (both technical and non-technical)
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly
Ability to deal with multiple stakeholders
Ability to work as part of a geographically distributed team, but also on your own when required
Fluent written and verbal language skills in English
Willingness to travel up to 60% within EMEA
