The Red Hat Consulting Services team is looking for a Cloud Consultant to join us in Madrid, Spain. In this role, you will be responsible for the on-site delivery and implementation of our solutions and offerings for the Professional Services team. You’ll gain understanding of customer cloud needs with a particular focus on OpenShift by Red Hat, making recommendations appropriate to their environment that create possibilities and address customer challenges.
Primary job responsibilities
Implement and integrate OpenShift by Red Hat and Ansible by Red Hat
Collaborate with project and customer team members to meet timelines and goals
Contribute to project documentation and diagrams, including ticket or bug management
Mentor and share your knowledge with customers
Develop and implement automation and integration for our customers’ cloud and system infrastructure solutions using Ruby or Python
Define and promote the adoption of automation techniques and DevOps processes to improve the cloud life cycle, including infrastructure and application uptime, availability, and time-to-market
Implement solutions using cloud technologies, design principles, integration points, and automation methods
3+ years of technology experience (including classes), e.g., consulting, operations, help desk or service desk, development, and related internships
Deep knowledge of Linux internals, including performance tuning experience, troubleshooting, bug fix updates, and core builds
Working experience with DevOps or agile processes
Experience with operating system architecture and concepts including virtualization (e.g., KVM) and container (e.g., Docker) implementations
Experience using public cloud technologies and providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
Experience with OpenShift by Red Hat implementations
Experience implementing system infrastructure and cloud solutions including data storage, networking, monitoring, and security
Experience working with Bash and similar command line tools
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Comfortable working with highly distributed teams, including interacting with open source communities through email and IRC
Ability to study on your own, learn quickly, and put new ideas into practice
Thorough knowledge of system management, clustering and storage management, virtualization, and directory server
Demonstrated experience communicating value, progress, and metrics of key projects to required stakeholders and diverse audiences
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or ability to complete certification within 30 days of hire
Passion for open source, software, tooling, and automation
Experience working in a quality assurance role or with ticketing systems or bug tracking tools is a plus
