Play a key role in our customer’s evolution in enterprise development and help make our solutions both practical and workable for their businesses. The Red Hat Consulting Services team is looking for an experienced Middleware Consultant to join us in China. In this role, you will use our unique middleware capabilities for Red Hat JBoss Middleware family of offerings and solutions like Red Hat Enterprise Application Platform (JBoss EAP), Red Hat JBoss A-MQ, Red Hat JBoss BRMS, Red Hat JBoss BPM Suite, Red Hat JBoss Data Grid, etc. You’ll lead the on-site implementation of Red Hat technologies like the Red Hat JBoss Middleware family of offerings. You'll gain understanding of customer infrastructure and business needs, make recommendations that resolve their challenges, and help them make strategic decisions. As a Middleware Consultant, you will then build enterprise applications and capabilities around integration and application development technologies to streamline development and allow for continuous feature release of applications. This is a great opportunity if you're passionate about learning new technologies and expanding your core base of expertise, while traveling to customer sites within China promoting Red Hat’s solutions.
Primary job responsibilities
Address the customer technical, development, and strategic IT requirements as the main point of contact for Red Hat professional services
Track and manage projects including status, issues, and time reporting
Consult with customers to work on problem identification, system architecture definition, hardware and software specification and design, implementation, testing, customer training, and deployment of open source solutions
Use industry practices alongside Red Hat's policies and procedures to solve diverse problems
Analyze data to evaluate key factors in problem-solving
Make judgment calls to select methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
Solid technical skills in Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (JBoss EAP), Apache Tomcat, and Apache ActiveMQ
Enterprise Java development skills
Knowledge of and some experience with Red Hat JBoss BPM Suite, Red Hat JBoss BRMS, and Red Hat JBoss Data Grid; Redis, and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions are a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated experience communicating value, progress, and status of key projects to both business-minded and technically savvy audiences
Ability and desire to learn new technologies on your own and apply new concepts to problems
Ability to work as part of a geographically distributed team while demonstrating flexibility and initiative
Good project management skills are a plus
Good communication skills in English are a plus
