Job summary

Focus on our infrastructure, cloud, management, and automation business. The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Senior Practice Lead to join the Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Solutions Practice leadership team. In this role, you will guide thought leadership, build out services-led solutions, and support complex customer delivery. You’ll work closely with the regional consulting leadership team to achieve the organization’s business objectives measured by services bookings, revenue, and margin and utilization targets. As a Senior Practice Lead, you will engage our most strategic customers in executive discussions, trying to gain understanding of customer business and technical requirements and helping translate these requirements into reference architectures. You’ll also help customers define their journeys to the cloud, hybrid delivery, or NFV and align Red Hat’s technologies and solutions with different customer use cases. You’ll need to have a unique combination of business insight, consultative technical skills, and C-level executive presence. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Manage the Infrastructure and Cloud Practice team in EMEA

  • Actively participate in the development of your teams

  • Identify key projects where to add value with new services approach and methodologies

  • Be responsible for meeting the regional consulting team business objectives, including team billable utilization levels to meet financial targets and successful customer delivery

  • Maintain any necessary customer contact until project is completed

  • Serve as an escalation point for customers and represent customers within the EMEA Solutions Practice and Red Hat’s regional teams

  • Guide services’ thought leadership and business success through cross-functional alignment with sales, business, engineering, support, enablement, and training teams

  • Work with the Solutions Specialist Sales leadership to integrate and improve customer pursuit approaches, track and report on business progress, and align capacity with expected demand

  • Apply customer and market experience to constantly improve training and enablement programs and materials so that they best apply to consulting needs

  • Promote development and enablement of services methodology, best practices, and technical content on next generation infrastructure management and operations solutions and emerging offerings that will result in high customer satisfaction and supportability

  • Enable the greater customer, internal, and partner teams with proven service methodologies, technology skills, and approaches

  • Guide and mentor other associates to provide consistent and reusable delivery methodologies with a focus on infrastructure, cloud, telco, NFV, and long-term supportability

  • Support the enablement team around the infrastructure, cloud, and NFV technologies and emerging solutions

Required skills

  • Recognized infrastructure, cloud, or NFV technology leader with a solid combination of consultative, technology, and business insight

  • Solid knowledge and operational experience on new services methodologies related to next generation Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) technologies, operations management and automation, and agile and DevOps methodologies

  • Deep understanding of current customer business and technology requirements and their spectrum of journeys (traditional to cloud-native or hybrid)

  • Strategic planning skills on a business development level; ability to build an effective business case reflecting the value of an appropriate strategy

  • Experience with and demonstrated expertise in the management of a professional services team (including customer-facing skills) with highly technical associates

  • Background in architecting and designing complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technology domain

  • 10+ years of experience in a solutions architect, enterprise architect, or architect consulting delivery role

  • Proven record of working in a strategic advisory capacity to senior IT operations and engineering professionals and business executives

  • Proven ability to work seamlessly with distributed cross-functional teams to achieve success on behalf of customers

  • Excellent project oversight skills

  • Comfortable working with highly distributed teams, including interaction with open source communities

  • Passion for open source, software, tooling, and automation

  • Frequent contributions to the development of new ideas and methods

  • University or bachelor's degree; advanced university degree or MBA is a plus

  • Demonstrated achievement of progressively senior customer interaction (including C-suite) and broad portfolio selling

  • Prior experience in customer-facing responsibilities in a consulting or presales function

  • Viewed as an expert in the given field by customers or industry analysts

  • Considered a mentor of selling strategy, including designing strategy

  • Typically 10+ years of related consulting experience with 5+ years in cloud

  • Project management skills

  • Willingness to travel weekly to customer locations throughout EMEA

  • Experience across one or more vertical industry areas (e.g., telco, FSI, public sector, or healthcare) is a plus
