Job summary

Be the front line catalyst creating possibilities, solving problems, and establishing working relationships with customers. The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Solutions Architect to join us in Jakarta, Indonesia. In this role, you will help our customers invest wisely in an infrastructure that gives them maximum flexibility in the future, allowing them to run faster and more efficiently. You'll need a good a balance of serious technical expertise, passion for open source, a thorough understanding of business processes, and the ability to identify and create business solutions across multiple technology platforms at the enterprise level. As a Solutions Architect, you will also need excellent communication and people skills because you'll be a crucial part of the first in-depth experience our customers have with Red Hat.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Provide pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex solutions

  • Use your extensive solutions knowledge and technical expertise to prepare detailed product specifications, deliver presentations, and demonstrate solutions to sales staff and customers

  • Present complex solutions to potential customers and design value-driven architectures, explaining the application and ROI of Red Hat solutions

  • Deliver compelling recommendations that result in the closing of new sales

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of customers' business and IT environments and collaborate with sales teams to assess the potential application of Red Hat solutions

  • Communicate value, progress, and status of sales opportunities to all stakeholders; share knowledge and findings to allow team members to learn from your experiences

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of experience as a sales engineer building and implementing Linux or UNIX software solutions

  • Advanced knowledge of UNIX or Linux systems, preferably in Red Hat platform solutions including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat Network Satellite, MRG, and other related technologies

  • Good knowledge of open source cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solutions like Red Hat OpenStack Platform, KVM, etc.

  • Familiarity with technologies like clustering, directory services, and identity management

  • Proven record of developing relationships at engineering, commercial, and executive levels throughout large enterprise IT organizations

  • Comfortable presenting and having technical and business discussions with senior executives

  • Ability to orchestrate proofs of concepts from concept to business closure stages

  • Experience with different programming languages; knowledge of Python, Perl, Ruby, or Java is a plus
