Job summary

With the digital transformation changing the financial services industry (FSI), Red Hat’s Sales team is looking for an industry and technology expert to join us as a Senior Technology Advisor for the Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. In this role, you will shape our technical go-to-market strategy to position Red Hat as the vendor of choice within the finance sector market for end users, finance solutions providers, system integrators (SIs), and FinTech vendors. You’ll collaborate closely with our Sales, Presales, and Services teams to improve how we work with FSI customers, but also with independent software vendors (ISVs) and SIs. As a Senior Technology Advisor, you will represent Red Hat in the industry’s technical associations and forums, as well as in some industry exhibitions and technical marketing events. You’ll work with the Technology Office to position Red Hat as a credible creatively thinking company in the industry at senior levels, helping bring the advantages of open source software to transform the FSI landscape in the coming years. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Spread the understanding of the FSI industry across Red Hat's presales and services teams

  • Represent Red Hat at the senior level within the FSI industry with customers, partners, media, and industry associations and events

  • Understand our FSI customers’ root problems and context to best define and architect our solutions together with other stakeholders at Red Hat and our partner ecosystem

  • Build and report on our mid to long-term business pipeline per solution use cases, fostering repeatable large projects together with our ecosystem

  • Participate in deal reviews to ensure that the needs of our FSI customers are well represented in our proposals together with our partners, helping to ensure the future success of the projects we sell

  • Increase our blue chip references with the Tier 1 FSI customers and their related ecosystem, currently with a focus on the top FSI customers across EMEA

  • Work extensively with the FSI industry ecosystem and with Red Hat’s internal teams, including the Presales, Sales, Marketing, Consulting, Business, and Engineering teams, as well as with the Global FSI team

Required skills

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in the IT industry

  • Technical background and education

  • Experience working as a CTO, chief technologist, or chief architect in companies in the finance sector or in the IT industry serving the finance sector

  • Visionary and deeply aware of new technologies

  • Solid understanding of the Finance industry business problems and perspective

  • Outstanding communication skills combined with solid customer orientation
