Job summary

Join the team of the fastest growing open source company in the world. The Red Hat Marketing team is looking for an IT Telesales Specialist to join us in Farnborough, UK. In this role, you will identify sales opportunities within Red Hat's emerging technologies across key industry trends like cloud, storage, middleware, and mobile. You will use a consultative sales approach, working closely with sales specialists and account managers. We will need you to understand complex business problems and industry trends and use this information to profile and tailor Red Hat's value proposition when engaging with end users. As an IT Telesales Specialist, you will collaborate with stakeholders from across Red Hat, including Marketing, Sales, and partner teams.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Develop and carry out a strategy for discovering and securing new business opportunities across predefined solutions areas within the Red Hat portfolio

  • Foster relationships with business partners, potential clients, and business contacts to attract new business and enhancing organization reputation

  • Create a business development opportunities through a variety of marketing techniques, including social media and other tools

  • Train, mentor, and support other team members

  • Ensure that outbound activity is in line with set targets and objectives

  • Follow lead management processes and metrics to ensure success of campaigns

  • Ensure that customer relationship management (CRM) systems are maintained and updated

  • Promote Red Hat brand, values, and ethics

Required skills

  • Desire to build the career in business development or sales

  • Motivation to learn and progress in an innovative technology company

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of consultative sales techniques like solutions selling

  • 1-2 year(s) of internal account management or business development experience

  • Ability to work both on your own and as part of a team

  • Comfortable presenting thoughts, ideas, and successes to the business

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant technical degree is a plus

  • Prior experience with Salesforce.com (SFDC) is an advantage
