The Red Hat OpenShift Support team is looking for a highly skilled Technical Support Engineer to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will collaborate with our customers' top developers and architects. You'll partner closely with Red Hat's development engineering teams and work alongside some of the brightest developers in the open source community. You'll continuously strive to understand and troubleshoot issues to resolution. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will work with the industry's most innovative technologies like OpenShift by Red Hat, Docker, and Kubernetes and use and expand your knowledge of networking, performance, and storage. You'll need to have excellent communication and collaboration skills, as you'll be part of a fast-paced and diverse team working around the world to create the most value for our customers and partners.
Primary job responsibilities
Ensure that customers can get the maximum value and easily use our offerings and subscriptions
Support customers via web-based inquiries about OpenShift by Red Hat
Exceed customer expectations by providing outstanding customer service
Actively update our customers and ensure they are satisfied with our support service
Collaborate with other engineers and developers to develop creative solutions for our customers, including fixes for our offerings
Share your knowledge gained from troubleshooting issues by contributing to the global Red Hat's knowledge management system
Manage customer cases and maintain clear and concise case documentation
Experience with Linux or UNIX operating systems; good understanding of installation, configuration, upgrade, and maintenance
Ability and desire to quickly learn new programming languages and technologies
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience within the enterprise IT
Fluent written and verbal language skills in English
Troubleshooting and debugging skills; passion for problem-solving and investigation
Willingness to learn new open source technologies
The following is considered a plus:
Knowledge of OpenShift by Red Hat, containers, Docker, or Kubernetes, Linux or UNIX operating systems, networking and software-defined networking, or virtualization
Upstream involvement in open source projects like patches submitted for upstream inclusion
Prior Red Hat certification like Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or other relevant certifications
