Job summary

Try the life in Red Hat and help us run modern offices in Brno. The Red Hat Facilities Engineering Team is looking for an intern to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. As an intern, you’ll cooperate with engineering team and office coordinators and managers across the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. You will become a part of the Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) team that handles the office management in all locations around the world.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Serve as point of contact and interact continuously with A/C and Power maintenance companies for the Brno office

  • Set up dates for preventive maintenance and keep it on track; supervise onsite vendor management

  • Archive all results of preventive maintenance into an internal system (Archibus)

  • Keep all information about GWS infrastructure updated (energy consumption, datasheets, warranties, etc.)

  • Support development and maintenance of facilities engineering asset register

  • Help with integration of office infrastructure into Archibus

  • Keep on track utilities cost and benchmark them with market

  • Provide support for new projects for facilities engineering

  • Assist with new projects (office and data center projects)

  • Help coordinate technical trainings for our colleagues

  • Create and maintain technical procedures (data centers/ server rooms)

Required skills

  • Technical knowledge; preferably a student of mechanical or electromechanical engineering with focus on HVAC, Power Distribution, Power Resilience

  • High performance in delivering premium customer service

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Czech and English

  • Motivated with the ability to work with little direct supervision

  • Team player with positive attitude to resolve challenges

  • Ability to use office applications and willingness to learn new tools and resources
