Job summary

The Red Hat IT ServiceNow team is looking for a DevOps System Administrator to join us in Brno, Czech republic. In this role, you’ll help us create and maintain the Configuration Management Database in ServiceNow. Your responsibilities will include connecting to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems administration with an understanding of DevOps configuration automation tools like Puppet, Chef, or Ansible, Virtualization platforms like Red Hat Virtualization, oVirt, and VMware or event and alert monitoring like Nagios, Zabbix, and Splunk.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Perform Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems administration and DevOps configuration automation

  • Maintain middleware servers for ServiceNow integrations and configuration item discovery

  • Maintain configuration item classes and relationships (relational database) in ServiceNow

  • Develop system automation scripts

  • Perform functional and regression testing

  • Collaborate with a team of developers, business analysts, and process owners

  • Prioritize work with respect to Scrum

  • Develop microservices to support ServiceNow integrations using Python

  • Help maintain ServiceNow applications (JavaScript) to support IT Service Management best practices

  • Support ServiceNow platform upgrades

Required skills

  • 1+ year(s) working in ServiceNow as a developer or system administrator

  • 1+ year(s) working with ServiceNow Service Mapping or Discovery products

  • Experience working as a Linux administrator in production environments

  • Experience working with event and monitoring tool integrations

  • Solid scripting skills in Perl, Python, or Ruby

  • Experience with DevOps configuration automation systems (Puppet, Chef, or Ansible)

  • Experience developing custom REST-oriented APIs and integrations

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with technical and non-technical teams

  • Experience collaborating with multiple developers in a production environment

  • ITIL service transition or operation life cycle experience or certification
