Join the largest open source company and help us grow our business in Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. The Red Hat Business Development team is looking for an EMEA Sales Lead for application modernization and Migration (AMM). In this role, you will work closely (as the Sales BDM) with the Tech BDM to help us accelerate the growth of our business including Red Hat JBoss EAP, Agile Integration based on JBoss Fuse, AMQ and API Management and OpenShift by Red Hat. You will focus on key growth areas around migrating from Oracle or IBM to Red Hat technology or migrating from Tibco to JBoss Fuse or other related technology. You will work with the Application Development (AppDev) sales solutions professionals (SSP) and the larger EMEA sales team including country managers and sales managers. You also enable and work with presales teams to enable them to sell related offerings to clients and partners. You will work closely with our AMM unit in EMEA as well as the global team. You will help the AMM team give feedback to the Business Unit (BU), Engineering, Product Marketing, Product Management, and BU leads. We will need you to closely work with our client IT associates, our consulting unit as well as our System Integrators and Partners to move workloads from the old proprietary technology to the modern open source technology of Red Hat. This role can be based in any of our major EMEA offices including Munich, Frankfurt, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Amsterdam, London.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Engage at EMEA and country level with our sales and presales teams to support demand generating activities including events, webinars, and publications

  • Coach and mentor sales and presales teams in opportunity qualification, opportunity development, and closure

  • Guide initiatives and related content with the EMEA AppDev SSP team as well as larger sales and presales and partner teams

  • Participate and lead in direct client sales meetings

  • Channel and consolidate feedback for BU (features, technology, pricing, etc.) for the owned portfolio

  • Communicate and guide BU initiatives and AMM initiatives to EMEA field sales

  • Engage and lead marketing initiatives with BU, EMEA, and field marketing teams

  • Participate in related account workshops

  • Contribute to the resolution of client escalations in the owned portfolio

Required skills

  • Business development experience, ideally Europe-wide

  • Leadership experience, especially managing virtual teams

  • Experience acting as a multiplier and sharing best practice

  • Knowledge of middleware, Integration and Container, ideally Red Hat JBoss EAP, Red Hat JBoss Fuse, and OpenShift by Red Hat

  • Ability to work with globally distributed teams across Red Hat Sales, SSPs, and Presales teams, as well as with other regional leaders

  • Solid presentation and teaching skills

  • Ability to adjust to different audiences, from developer to CIO to line of business

  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks

  • Effective written and verbal English communication skills
