The Red Hat Services Operations team is looking for a Consulting Business Operations Administrator to join us in Beijing, China. In this role, you’ll support the Consulting Services team in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. You will work closely with the consulting operations lead and one or more of the regional services leads providing administration support to the Consulting Services team. As a Consulting Business Operations Administrator, you'll maintain close relationships within your assigned subregions, as well as with APAC stakeholders.
Primary job responsibilities
Determine, monitor, and review all project economics, including costs, operational budgets, staffing requirements, resources, and risk
Ensure legally binding requirements are followed
Facilitate development of recommended project control solutions to be used for planning, scheduling, and tracking projects through integration of various project management tools
Work with management on project proposals, bids, contracts, estimates, and schedules
Contribute to the project estimation process
Plan, schedule, monitor, and report on activities related to the project, including subcontractor monitoring
Establish appropriate metrics for measuring key project criteria
Develop project control and reporting procedures and manage changes in operational plans; conduct status review meetings among project team members and clients
Integrate and use specific industry project management and technical delivery methodologies, like Project Management Institute (PMI), Red Hat Services Project Management Methodology, system and software development, or product development
Assist in training project teams on applications of appropriate procedures and processes
Advise team members on how to accomplish project goals, meet established schedules, and resolve technical or operational issues
Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and project management techniques
6-8 years of experience working in consulting services administrator or sales support role
Excellent data and system background
Good spreadsheet skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills on all organizational levels
Demonstrated internal customer service and stakeholder management skills in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work as part of a rapidly evolving and changing team while demonstrating flexibility, initiative, and focus on delivering results
Willingness to work extended hours during periods of high demand like quarter-close or year-end; may include weekends and holidays
