The Red Hat Security and Identity Engineering team is looking for an intern to join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you will develop new features and fix bugs for our Common Logging stack, which is used to aggregate and analyze large amounts of logging data from applications. You'll gain experience with containers, OpenShift by Red Hat, and Ansible by Red Hat. We'll need you to be able to work well with a team and have some programming experience in Ruby, C, or Python.
Primary job responsibilities
Work with a team of software developers to implement new functionality and fix bugs related to log collection, annotation, and analysis
Work on development projects guided by other engineers on the team
Produce formal design documents and work through design reviews
Programming experience in C, Ruby, or Python
Web API programming experience
Willingness to learn new things
Good written and verbal communication skills
Currently pursuing a graduate degree, preferably in computer science
Familiarity with the following will be considered a plus:
Logging components like Elasticsearch, Rsyslog, FluentD, and Kibana
OpenShift by Red Hat or container development
Ansible by Red Hat
