Job summary

The Red Hat Mobile team is looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager to join us. In this role, you will help us develop our Red Hat Mobile application development story for our customers, partners, and the community. Your assignment will include directing the core messaging, content, and positioning for our success within the mobile technology market. You’ll listen to customer stories, develop use cases, write and publish marketing materials (blogs, videos, white papers, e-books, solutions briefs, webinar content, etc.), and provide the strategic direction for positioning Red Hat Mobile with our container technology, Business Process Management (BPM), API Management, and others. You’ll collaborate cross functionally and globally with many teams, including product management, strategic marketing, partner and alliance marketing, field marketing, sales, and services. This position can be based anywhere in the US.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product management to ensure marketing plans align with market directions and support the product roadmap and releases

  • Create messaging, positioning, and value proposition for Red Hat Mobile, validating that it fits into the overall vision for the Red Hat Applications Business and Platforms group

  • Track and consolidate customer feedback, market data, and competitive solutions and develop messaging around customer challenges, key product and solution benefits, and our competitive advantage

  • Direct all content for mobile solutions, including editorial, innovative and creative thinking, and social media content for use in AR, customer, and partner engagement

  • Work with subject matter experts to define and deliver effective marketing content, including white papers, presentations, case studies, solution briefs, web content, data sheets, and sales kits that can be promoted globally

  • Work with strategic partners where appropriate to align messaging and solutions; create materials that can be used by all relevant partners for their marketing efforts

  • Work with Marketing to develop marketing programs and themes aimed at mobile solutions

  • Define specific sub-segments within the market and ensure that the content and marketing plan supports the correct target business opportunity

  • Coordinate with various marketing teams, including field marketing, digital marketing, corporate marketing, and partner marketing, to ensure successful and targeted execution of various marketing activities like events, webinars, SEM and SEO, web content, direct mail, and email

  • Drive enablement and training activities for sales, pre-sales, professional services, as well as for partners

  • Coordinate cross-organizational teams, actively ensuring that teams are synchronized concerning messaging, communication, schedules, issues, and other relevant areas

Required skills

  • 12+ years of enterprise software and 6+ years of product marketing experience, preferably within the area of mobile and platform

  • Thorough knowledge of the mobile technology market, including key players, market trends, key industry analysts, and technology direction

  • Understanding of open source software development processes and methodologies

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, marketing, business, economics, or related area; MBA is prefered

  • Proven track record of success in a fast moving, technical environment, including a proven ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly

  • Understanding of the common technical jargon of modern app development including containers, cloud, DevOps, and microservices

  • Ability to develop compelling marketing programs and the requisite materials (themes, content, assets) associated with the program

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the keen ability to explain and translate complex technology concepts into simple and intuitive communication

  • Record of success in working in an inspirational cross-functional environment

  • Ability to be meet deadlines and handle multiple projects at once while working in a highly complex environment

  • Engaged, motivated, with a solid work ethic

  • Experience with social media and digital marketing; knowledge of content creation following the buyer’s journey

  • Willingness to travel up to 50%

  • Metrics-focused and detail-oriented

  • Presales or sales experience is a plus

  • Knowledge of Red Hat Mobile is an advantage
