The Red Hat OpenShift team is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join us in Raleigh, NC or Westford, MA. In this role, you will be a key member of your team, focusing on standardization of containers, including work around Docker and Kubernetes in the OpenShift environment. You'll be part of a distributed team working both on your own and in collaboration with other team members and upstream developers. You'll need to be passionate about software development and open source. This is a great opportunity help us change the way development is done.
Primary job responsibilities
Partner with teams of developers within Red Hat in a fast-moving environment
Work with key Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) technologies, including containers and Kubernetes
Design, develop, and implement new features in key upstream open source projects
Diagnose complex customer issues and deliver solutions
Participate in global agile and collaborative development teams
Contribute to a continually growing test automation suite
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
7+ years of experience delivering enterprise software applications
Advanced programming skills in Go, C, C#, or C++ Good knowledge of unit testing frameworks and methodologies
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Rest APIs, Kubernetes, and containers
Familiarity with participating in an agile development team
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
Positive attitude and willingness to share ideas openly
Passion for developing open source software
