The Red Hat People team is looking for a Director of Global Compensation and Benefits to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you’ll develop, implement, and manage global compensation and benefits programs and solutions for Red Hat. You will bring a global and innovative approach along with a keen understanding of how programs should support the talent and financial strategy of the organization and guide business results. You’ll provide leadership and vision around strategic program development that will enable the attraction, development, and retention of talent in a highly competitive, constantly changing, environment. As a Director of Compensation and Benefits, you will be a proven leader and mentor with a demonstrated ability to support, develop, and challenge a high-performing, experienced, team.
Primary job responsibilities
Consult with senior management to ensure compensation and benefits programs enable and support the talent strategy of the organization and business needs; manage team and provide guidance on solving complex business problems
Contribute to the design, implementation, management, and administration of compensation and benefits programs and practices including the following:
Base pay programs targeted to address competitive needs and pay equity
Short-term incentive programs aligned to corporate results (including bonus and sales plans)
Long-term incentive programs aligned to competitive needs and the company’s talent strategy
Global benefits programs, including retirement plan strategy and management, aligned to competitive needs and the company’s talent strategy
Executive compensation programs designed to attract, retain, and align incentives and performance
Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to executives, managers, People team members, and other professionals regarding compensation recommendations, strategy, administration, procedures and policies, and communication
Review, assess, and develop strategies, programs, and delivery technologies including benchmarking against external practices
Guide the development and implementation of associate, manager, and People team enablement that aligns with Red Hat’s Open Decision Framework and supports the consistent and effective understanding and application of programs
Act as a key member of the team conducting due diligence and integrations relative to potential mergers and acquisitions or expansions
Oversee program documentation and compliance to legal requirements, processes, and procedures
10+ years of experience in the development, management, and administration of global compensation and benefits programs and 5+ years of people management experience
Demonstrated experience with global compensation and benefits strategy development and financial management
Experience with business partnering, consulting, and influencing stakeholders across all levels of the organization
Comfortable operating in an open environment where transparency and direct interaction with associates globally is expected
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present views and data in a clear and compelling manner
Business insight and familiarity with corporate finance methodologies
Ability to think and communicate strategically with solid customer focus and ability to effectively and quickly build relationships that establish trust, respect, competence, and confidence
Experience with executive compensation, compensation and benefits consulting, and mergers and acquisitions a plus
