Job summary

The Red Hat Sales team in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region is looking for a Technical Business Development Manager to join us in Germany, France, UK, or Nordics. In this role, you will catalyze Red Hat customers’ journey to digitization and cloud solutions and accelerate growth of workloads to the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, with a focus on containerization of existing applications. Number of clients approach Red Hat to help and advise them on their journey to migrate a large number of existing applications to a new cloud based container platform like OpenShift by Red Hat. You will help us standardize our approach and best practices and enable a scale-out of our sales, presales, delivery, and partner capabilities and capacity. In order to accelerate OpenShift Container platform adoption and scale, you will work closely with the Application Modernization and Migration (AMM) program team, Red Hat sales, presales, consulting, and partner teams, and align with Red Hat internal practice, engineering, and program leads.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Become EMEA Subject Matter Expert (SME) for application containerization

  • Establish, guide, and catalyze the containerization community within Red Hat and Partners

  • Lead creation of a proper OpenShift Container Platform reference architecture

  • Align and govern initiatives around containerization

  • Build out consulting solution content and methodology

  • Update and create frameworks and processes for customer and consulting teams to deliver solutions

  • Extract and preserve newly discovered migration issues and solutions, learnings, and good practices from projects and contribute to the solution repository

  • Align solution with the AMM program

  • Support EMEA and country level with demand generating activities (events, webinars, publications)

  • Enable, coach, and mentor sales and presales teams in opportunity qualification and leading discovery sessions

  • Be a trusted adviser, both technically and professionally, in Red Hat, with partners and with clients

  • Be the expert to advise a large number of project teams across EMEA

  • Prepare and conduct enablement activities; coach and mentor delivery teams during projects

  • Establish feedback loops and create regular checkpoints with project delivery teams

  • Support the process of channeling and creating customer references

  • Work closely with SIs and partners in all phases

  • Communicate on a consistent basis with the regional resource managers, consulting teams, consulting management, business units, sales teams, and key stakeholders that focus on container adoption

  • Partner and engage with key clients and Red Hat stakeholders to build out a referral base for the solutions and to evangelize the solution

Required skills

  • Consulting background

  • Great presentation, moderation, and teaching skills

  • Ability to adjust to different audiences, from Developer to CIO to Line of Business to board level

  • Track record of carrying out modernization and migration projects across presales, effort estimation, project implementation, and project management

  • Track record of acting as a multiplier and sharing project learnings with peers

  • Expert architecture knowledge of cloud application infrastructures and container technology

  • Experience with Infrastructure automation (Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Puppet, Ansible etc.), application life cycle management, leading DevOps conversations, microservices

  • Ability to work with globally distributed teams across Red Hat Consulting, Sales, Business Units, and collaboration with other regional practice leads

  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks and work actively

  • Effective written and verbal English communication skills
